How often do you clean your makeup brushes and when you do what do you clean them with? Here are a few guidelines.
How often:
- Foundation Brushes: minimum once a week
- Brushes used for finishing powders and bronzers: once a week
- Blush Brushes: once a week
- Eye shadow Brushes: every 2-3 days
- Eyeliner Brushes: after every use
How to Clean your Makeup Brushes (disinfect and dissolves grease and makeup)
- Add a tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablspoon of castille soap in a cup of hot water
- Let it soak for 20 minutes
- Rinse the brushes with hot water followed by a cold rinse
- Pat dry and let it air dry
After being stuck in traffic for three hours on Friday when it usually takes me 20 minutes to get home, I decided I needed a relaxing weekend at home. I spent my two days catching up on a few shows, cleaning and organizing my house, catching up on my blog, and spending time with my hubby and my Emma. I don’t know about you guys but I tend to do several things when I am working on the computer. I tend to have facebook, the blog, pinterest, and a few other sites running all at once. With all the holidays approaching I am on a hunt for yummy and healthy dishes. When my friend and I made this recipe we ate the whole bowl, and not because we were hungry, which we were, but because it was delicious!! What are your favorite party dishes?
Ingredients
- 1 can of black beans drained and rinsed
- 1 can of corn drained and rinsed
- 2 tomatoes diced
- 1 bunch of finely chopped cilantro
- 1/2 an onion chopped
- 1 pepper chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 avocado diced
- 2 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 of lemon squeezed
Directions
- Stir all the ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix in the avocado and drizzle with olive oil to serve.

It’s my Birthday today and I have to be truly honest, up until two years ago I dreaded the day. I guess the idea of turning a year older kind of saddened me. Life changes, and the perception on things change as well. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I stopped looking at birthdays as me getting older, I started to look at them as a celebration of another year here with my beautiful daughter, my wonderful husband, and all the people in my life that made that year so very special.
